Mouse anti Human ferritin antibody, clone F23 is a monoclonal antibody raised in mouse that recognizes human ferritin.

This antibody has been validated for ELISA.

Ferritin is an ubiquitous intracellular protein that stores iron in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms. Its key role is to sequester iron in a soluble, non toxic form, thereby supporting cellular iron balance. Ferritin is widely expressed in the liver, spleen, and bone marrow and is a highly conserved protein essential for maintaining iron homeostasis. Structurally, ferritin forms a spherical protein complex with an approximate molecular weight of 450 kDa. This complex is composed of 24 subunits, including heavy (H) and light (L) chains, and can accommodate up to approximately 4,500 ferric iron atoms within its core.

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
