| Mouse anti Human CD66c antibody, clone rA19B19-08/1G8, is a recombinant monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD66c, also known as cell adhesion molecule CEACAM6. CD66c is a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family, which is involved in a range of cellular processes through homotypic and heterotypic interactions. CD66c contains an N-terminal region homologous to the immunoglobulin variable domain, two domains homologous to the immunoglobulin constant domain and is linked to the membrane via a GPI anchor. CD66c is expressed in a range of organs, including the gallbladder, liver, colon, stomach, skin and tongue. CD66c has been shown to regulate anoikis through activation of the Src-FAK signaling system. CD66c expression is increased in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. It is a receptor for adherent invasive E.coli that promotes the inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel disease. CD66c expression is significantly increased in malignancies, is important for the metastatic potential of cancers and is reported to be a useful prognostic tool for cancer. |
