| Mouse anti Human CD6 antibody, clone rA48B48-05/3D4, is a recombinant monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD6, also known as T-cell differentiation antigen CD6, T12 or TP120. CD6 is a type 1 single pass transmembrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. CD6 is expressed by T-lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells, the B1a subset of B-lymphocytes and thymocytes. CD6 possesses three scavenger receptor cysteine rich (SRCR) domains in its extracellular region that interact with the widely expressed ligands CD318 and CD166. CD6 associates with the T-cell receptor at the immunological synapse and provides both activating and inhibitory signals. CD6 plays a role in T-cell activation, signaling, proliferation, cell adhesion and immune regulation. In B1a cells, CD6 has a role in IgM production. CD6 is a risk gene for multiple autoimmune diseases, including multiple sclerosis, Sjögren's syndrome and psoriasis. It is a potential target in cancer immunotherapy. |

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
