| Mouse anti Human CD366 antibody, clone rA20B20-03/4A3, is a recombinant monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD366, also known as T-cell immunoglobulin mucin family member 3 (TIM-3). CD366 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the HAVCR2 gene and part of the TIM family of proteins. It is expressed on the surface of Th1, Th17, Tc1 and Treg cells, natural killer cells, dendritic cells, monocytes, mast cells and macrophages. CD366 has a role in regulating immune responses by managing the balance between immune activation and tolerance. Interaction between CD366 and the first identified ligand, Galectin-9, results in Th1 cell death. Other CD366 ligands include carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1), phosphatidyl serine (PtdSer), and high-mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1). CD366 is characterised as a marker of T cell exhaustion. It has been reported to be highly expressed in cancer tissues and is used as a negative prognostic biomarker for several types of tumor. CD366 has been identified as a potential therapeutic target in cancer immunotherapy and the treatment of sepsis. CD366 dysregulation is also related to the development of autoimmune diseases. |
