| Mouse anti Human CD357 antibody, clone rA31B31-05/2E1-7, is a recombinant monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD357, also known as Glucocorticoid-induced TNFR related protein (GITR). CD357 is a single-pass type I membrane protein and part of the TNFR superfamily. It is expressed on the surface of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and some activated cells, including natural killer cells, neutrophils and effector T lymphocytes. CD357 triggering on effector T lymphocytes by GITRL generates a positive costimulatory signal, promoting T cell activation and proliferation. CD357 expression is important in the development and activity of Tregs, and activation inhibits their suppressive function. CD357 triggering by its ligand increases resistance to tumors and viral infections. CD357 has a role in inflammation and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, and is a potential target for immunotherapy of autoimmune diseases. |
