| Mouse anti Human CD192 antibody, clone rB2C2-01/1H4, is a recombinant monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD192, also known as C-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2). CD192 is a 42 kD transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family, which acts as a receptor for the chemokines MCP-1 (monocyte chemoattractant protein 1), MCP-3 and MCP-4. It is mainly expressed on monocytes and macrophages, with lower expression on basophils. Interaction between CD192 and MCP-1 initiates diverse chemotactic responses, particularly in monocytes through an increase in intracellular calcium levels. MCP-1 is involved in the infiltration of monocytes in inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, as well as inflammatory responses against tumors. CD192 acts as a co-receptor with CD4 for HIV1 infection, and variations in CD192 are associated with relative resistance to HIV1. |
