Mouse anti Human vitronectin antibody, clone 8E6 recognizes human vitronectin and will react with the native and denatured forms. Mouse anti Human vitronectin antibody, clone 8E6 does not cross react with fibronectin.

Vitronectin is an important cell adhesive protein, found in the blood and extracellular matrix. It exists as a mixture of two monomeric glycoproteins that mediate cell adhesion through an interaction between the R-G-D motif, present in the cell binding domains, and several different integrin receptors. Vitronectin is also known as a complement lysis inhibitor (Milis et al. 1993) and as a scavenger protein for macromolecular products of the complement and homeostasis cascades (Stanley et al. 1986).

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
