Mouse anti Klebsiella SPP antibody, clone 73/28 is reactive with Klebsiella spp. serotypes. The antibody has been validated for immunofluorescence and ELISA. Tested samples include Klebsiella oxytoca and other serotypes in fresh isolates, including those fixed by phenol, formalin or boiling.

Klebsiella is a genus of Gram-negative, oxidase-negative, non-motile, rod-shaped bacteria characterized by a prominent polysaccharide capsule, which contributes to virulence by protecting against host defense. These bacteria are widely distributed in nature and can form part of the normal human flora, particularly in the intestinal and respiratory tracts. However, they are also opportunistic pathogens responsible for a range of infections, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, bloodstream infections and soft tissue infections.

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
