Save Money with these Top Quality Reporter Protein Antibodies

Reporter genes (also known as protein expression markers or small reporter proteins) are used in gene expression studies and provide an indication of the transcriptional activity in cells. Reporter proteins also assist in monitoring DNA delivery methods, the functional identification and characterization of promoter & enhancer elements, translation and transcription regulation, mRNA processing and protein:protein interactions.

We offer an extensive range of high performance great value epitope tag antibodies and reporter protein antibodies. For even better economy these popular antibodies are available in bulk.

All our products are guaranteed to perform to specification and are supported by knowledgeable technical specialists.

Beta-galactosidase (b-gal, beta-gal) Antibody

Beta-galactosidase (b-gal, beta-gal) Antibody

Beta-galactosidase (464 kDa) is an enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of disaccharide beta-galactoside into monosaccharides. Beta-galactosidase is commonly used to determine the success of transfections as it is a reporter protein encoded in the LacZ gene in E.coli. Bacteria expressing the gene appear blue when grown on a medium containing the substrate X-gal (galactoside and indole).

Antibodies to beta-galactosidase may be used to isolate the recombinant protein or detect its expression in cells / tissues. Bio-Rad has several beta-galactosidase antibodies suitable for use in a variety of applications. Our monoclonals include HuCAL® derived antibodies, available purified in a variety of quantities, providing you with highly specific reagents for ELISA and Western blotting. Our beta-galactosidase antibody (polyclonal antibody) is available directly conjugated to biotin, FITC and HRP saving you time by using direct labeling techniques in flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry of frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) Antibody

GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) Antibody

GFP is a naturally occurring 27 kDa protein derived from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria that fluoresces green when exposed to blue light. It is commonly used as a marker of gene expression and is particularly useful in fluorescence microscopy techniques.

Bio-Rad has several GFP antibodies suitable for use in a variety of applications. Our polyclonal green fluorescent protein antibody (Product Code AHP975) detects wild type, recombinant and enhanced forms of GFP and is reactive in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression systems. While our monoclonal green fluorescent protein antibody (Product Code OBT1820) recognises various forms of green fluorescent protein including eGFP and those forms found in vectors supplied by Clontech and Invitrogen.

GST (glutathione S-transferase) Antibody

GST (glutathione S-transferase) Antibody

GST is a widely used protein fusion tag, often chosen for mammalian protein expression studies because it is inducible, and gives high-level intracellular expression of genes or gene fragments. Bio-Rad offers both polyclonal and monoclonal GST antibodies, including GST Theta-1 and Theta-2 specificities.

Additionally we have developed new GST antibodies using our HuCAL® technology providing you with exquisitely specific monoclonals for your research. Our GST antibodies are available in a range of formats and suitable for ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistology and Western blotting.

Luciferase Antibody

Luciferase is a 62 kDa enzyme from the firefly Photinus pyralis, which interacts with the pigment luciferin, producing a light emitting reaction (peak 562 nm). Luciferase is used as a reporter protein in many expression vectors transfected in a diversity of cells and organisms.

Antibodies specific to luciferase enable detection of luciferase expression in situ in transfected cells and tissues. Bio-Rad offers a selection of luciferase monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies including clone LUC-Y suitable for flow cytometry, ELISA, immunohistochemistry of frozen tissue sections and Western blotting.

MBP (Maltose Binding Protein) Antibody

MBP is often used in protein expression studies because it creates a stable fusion product. It allows for easy purification from bacterial extracts under mild conditions. Our MBP monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies are suitable for ELISA, immunoprecipitation and Western blot applications.

Bulk quantities of our reporter protein antibodies are available and we also offer custom labelling with the conjugate of your choice e.g. DyLight® dyes. Please contact us for further information and a quote for these services.
