| Mouse anti Human CD26 antibody, clone rA13B13-08/4C8, is a recombinant monoclonal antibody that recognizes CD26, also known as dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) or adenosine deaminase complexing protein 2. CD26 is a single pass type II transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by activated T cells, B cells, natural killer cells and myeloid cells. A soluble form of CD26 can be derived by cleavage of the membrane bound form between residues 38-39. CD26 has DPP4 activity, cleaving off amino-terminal dipeptides with either L-alanine or L-proline in the second position. CD26 also interacts with a variety of binding partners, including Caveolin-1 and CXCR4. In the immune system, CD26 has a role in T cell development and activation. CD26 is involved in immune-mediated disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis and graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). CD26 expression has been associated with more aggressive variants in certain cancers through the regulation of metastasis and local invasion. CD26 absence has also been linked to the development of other cancers due to its ability to regulate cancer progression. CD26 is the functional receptor for the pathogenic Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus. |
