Epitope tagging is a technique in which a known epitope is fused to a recombinant protein using genetic engineering. Bio-Rad offers one polyclonal and three monoclonal s-tag antibodies; clones SBSTAGa, SBSTAGb, SBSTAGc. Each monoclonal is available in different formats including FITC, HRP purified and RPE suitable for use in ELISA, flow cytometry and protein purification. These s-tag antibodies are fusion peptide tags derived from pancreatic RNase A that are widely used in protein expression applications.
S-tag is a 15 amino acid truncated form of the S-peptide, KETAAAKFERQHMDS, used in variety of protein expression applications in mammalian cells.
