| Rabbit anti Mouse Interleukin-13 antibody recognizes mouse Interleukin-13 (IL-13), a 12.3kDa immunoregulatory cytokine produced primarily by activated T helper type 2 (Th2) cells and also by mast cells and NK cells. The biological properties of IL-13 include stimulation of B cell proliferation and antibody production. IL-13 plays an important role in the induction of the pathophysiological features of allergic asthma, independently of Immunoglobulin E and eosinophils (Wills-Karp et al. 1998). |

Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended. - Antiserum Preparation
- Antisera to mouse IL-13 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
