| Rabbit anti Human SPT16 antibody recognizes FACT complex subunit SPT16. SPT16 is part of the FACT (facilitates chromatin transcription) complex that specifically interacts with histones H2A/H2B to initiate nucleosome disassembly and transcription elongation (Abe et al. 2011). SPT16 has been shown to be essential for nucleosome disruption and assembly on individual rDNA genes. Mutations in SPT16 result in defective nucleosome disruption and inability to fully activate pol I transcription when cells exit the S phase of the cell cycle (Johnson et al. 2013). |

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
