| Rabbit anti Human PITX2 antibody recognizes pituitary homeobox 2, also known as paired-like homeodomain transcription factor 2. PITX2 is a member of the RIEG/PITX homeobox family and functions as a transcription factor (Logan et al. 1998). PITX2 regulates the expression of procollagen lysyl hydroxylase; involved in the development of teeth, eyes, and abdominal organs. Mutations in the PTIX2 gene have been linked to Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome (ARS) (Héon et al. 1995). Aberrant levels of PITX2 have also been observed in cancers like thyroid, ovarian, and colon cancer (Huang et al. 2010) (Fung et al. 2012) (Hirose et al. 2011). |

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
