Rabbit anti Human heme oxygenase 1 antibody
recognizes human heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), a 288 amino acid enzyme with a crucial role in heme catabolism, cleaving the heme ring to form biliverdin which is further processed to form bilirubin by a reductase enzyme. HO-1 activity is highest in the spleen where it is involved in the processing of senescent erythrocytes (Delaby et al. 2012
). HO-1 expression can be increased during cellular stress, including heat shock (Ewing et al. 1992
). Baseline levels of expression are high in certain tissues, including spleen and liver. Enriched enzyme preparations are recommended for experimental analysis.

- This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
