| Rabbit anti Human EHMT1 antibody recognizes euchromatic histone-lysine N-methyltransferase 1, also known as G9a-like protein (GLP). EHMT1 shares an evolutionary conserved SET domain with G9A, a histone methyltransferase enzyme (Shinkai and Tachibana, 2011). EHMT1 and G9A function exclusively as a heteromeric complex (Tachibana et al. 2005). G9A and EHMT1 also share a region containing ankryin repeats, involved in protein-protein interactions. The G9A/EHMT1 complex is able to methylate a wide range of non-histone proteins including transcription factors such as p53. As a result of their non-histone protein methyltransferase activity, both G9A and EHMT1 play a role in a wide range of cellular processes including cellular response to environmental stimuli, the establishment and maintenance of cell identity, and cell cycle regulation (Ling et al. 2012). |

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
