IFN Gamma antibody

chIFN-gamma was first identified, when supernatant from chicken spleen cells stimulated with concanavalin A (ConA ), displayed macrophage-activating factor (MAF) activity - the principle function of mammalian type II IFN-gamma (Vonbulow et al. 1984). Cloning of IFN-gamma cDNA from activated chicken T cells indicates that recombinant chicken IFN-gamma activates macrophages, strongly upregulating the expression of MHC class II and iNOS genes (Weining et al. 1996).
Rabbit anti Chicken interferon gamma antibody can be used to neutralize chIFN-gamma activity and to discriminate the antiviral activity of chIFN-gamma from that of chIFN-alpha and chIFN-beta (Weining et al. 1996).
