Mouse anti Pig CD6, clone a38b2, recognizes the porcine homologue of human CD6.

Studies have demonstrated that porcine CD6 is expressed exclusively on T-lymphocytes. Characterization studies of clone a38b2 (Pauly et al. 1996) have shown that this clone recognizes an epitope on T-lymphocytes which not present on either monocytes or B-cells. Clone ab36b2 immunoprecipitates a monomeric protein of ~150 kDa from an activated T-cell lysate. Clone ab36b2 binds to different epitope from clone MIL-8 (MCA1221GA) on porcine CD6 due to their total lack of reciprocal binding to CD6 expressing cells (Pescovitz et al. 1998).
