| Rabbit anti MyD88 antibody recognizes myeloid differentiation primary response protein MyD88. MyD88 is a central adaptor protein for inflammatory signaling downstream of Toll-like receptors and interleukin-1 receptors at the plasma membrane or in endosomes. Signaling through MyD88 can lead to inflammatory or anti-inflammatory cytokine production and type I interferon production (Deguine and Barton 2014). Mutations in MyD88 lead to constitutive activation of NF-kappaB and associated pathways. This activation underlies the B-cell proliferation and survival within B-cell lymphomas and accounts for the role of MyD88 as an oncogenic driver (de Groen et al. 2019). Deficiency in MyD88 has been shown to result in increased susceptibility to injury and infection in the cornea and other tissues (Reins et al. 2017). |
