| Rabbit anti MELAN-A antibody recognizes melanoma antigen recognized by T-cells 1, also known as MLANA and MART-1. MELAN-A is a human tumor-associated antigen expressed in healthy melanocytes and malignant melanoma. It is recognized by CD8+ T cells (Romero et al. 2014). More specifically, MELAN-A is a glycoprotein associated with the melanosome, an organelle in which melanin is synthesized (Song et al. 2009). Epitopes of MELAN-A have been used in melanoma immunotherapy protocols to enhance responses from cytotoxic T lymphocytes (Bioley et al. 2006). |
