| Rabbit anti Human CD49d antibody recognizes integrin alpha-4 (ITGA4). Integrins are transmembrane alpha-beta heterodimers, expressed on nearly every cell type, which mediate attachment to the extracellular matrix. By regulating membrane traffic, integrins are important regulators of cell proliferation and migration. CD49d is a subunit of integrin alpha, which forms a heterodimer with integrin beta1 (VLA4), the specific marker of hematopoietic cells (Cho et al. 2018). Overexpression of CD49d has been reported in several cancers (Darzi et al. 2017). Accordingly, CD49d has been suggested as a prognostic marker in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)/small lymphocytic lymphoma (Gooden et al. 2018) and glioblastoma (Cho et al. 2018). |
