| Rabbit anti CD23 antibody recognizes low affinity immunoglobulin epsilon Fc receptor, also known as FCER2 and BLAST-2. CD23 is a cell surface calcium-binding protein and receptor for the Fc domain of IgE, regulating synthesis of IgE on the surface of B lymphocytes and other cells (Jégouzo et al. 2019). CD23 has been shown to act as a negative regulator for IgE and IgG antibody responses in B cells by influencing cellular activation and differentiation (Liu et al. 2016). In addition CD23 regulates IgE-related immune responses by stimulating production of pro-inflammatory mediators (Rosenwasser and Meng 2005). CD23 also facilitates induction of antibody and T-cell responses (Engeroff et al. 2020). CD23 plays important roles in allergic disease through IgE-facilitated allergen presentation, controlling allergen-specific T-cell activation (Selb et al. 2017). |
