Rabbit Anti-Human Interleukin-13 Antibody is a polyclonal antibody that recognizes human interleukin 13 (IL-13), a secreted cytokine also known as NC30. IL-13 is a member of the type 2 cytokine family. This antibody has been reported to work in the following applications: ELISA, Western Blotting and functional assays. IL-13 is an immunoregulatory cytokine that plays a central role in type 2 immune responses, including allergic inflammation and host defense against parasitic infection. It is produced predominantly by activated T helper 2 (Th2) cells and by other immune cell types such as mast cells, basophils, and eosinophils, and it is secreted into the extracellular space. It acts on cells expressing IL 13 receptor complexes, including IL-13 receptor alpha 1 (IL13RA1) in combination with IL-4 receptor alpha (IL4RA), as well as the high affinity decoy receptor IL13RA2. |

- Reconstitute with 0.1 ml distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently vortexed after reconstitution and microcentrifuged before use.

- Antisera to human IL-13 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by antigen affinity chromatography.

This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
