Rabbit anti Human interleukin-18 antibody recognizes interleukin-18 (IL-18), also known as IFN-gamma-inducing factor, IL-1 gamma or iboctadekin.

The protein encoded by IL18 gene is a proinflammatory cytokine that augments natural killer cell activity in spleen cells, and stimulates interferon gamma production in T-helper type I cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for IL-18 (provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011).

Rabbit anti Human interleukin-18 antibody detects a band of 22 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates.
