Rabbit anti Human Platelet Factor-4 antibody recognizes platelet factor-4 (PF-4), otherwise known as CXCL4, a member of the intercrine alpha (chemokine CXC) family, released from the alpha granules of activated platelets, during platelet aggregation.
PF-4 binds with high affinity to heparin, counteracting its’ anticoagulant effect, thereby promoting blood coagulation, and implicating PF-4 in wound repair. PF-4 acts as a chemotactic factor for neutrophils, monocytes and fibroblasts, and binds wih CXCR3B, a splice variant of the chemokine receptor CXCR3.

Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended.

- Antiserum to human PF-4 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.

This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

- 1 This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
