Rat anti Mouse CD83 antibody, clone 3D11 recognizes murine CD83, a 45 kDa type 1 glyoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Originally described as a maturation marker for dendritic cells, CD83 plays a role in the regulation of antigen presentation, thymic T-cell maturation, B-cell function and peripheral T-cell activation. Activated dendritic cells and B-cells release a soluble form of CD83 that is reported to have an immunosuppressive effect, suggesting a therapeutic role for sCD83 in the regulation of immune disorders.

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product is photosensitive and should be protected from light.

This product has been reported to work in the following applications. This information is derived from testing within our laboratories, peer-reviewed publications or personal communications from the originators.
