TCF3 antibody | CD01/1E7
TCF3 is a member of the E protein (class 1) family of helix-loop-helix transcription factors. The protein plays important roles in maintenance and differentiation of stem cells, and is thought to be an important regulator of stem cell identity. Accordingly, deletion of the gene encoding TCF3 leads to high expression of pluripotency genes and delays differentiation of embryonic stem cells (Yamazaki et al. 2018). TCF3 is required for survival and tumorigenicity of colorectal cancer cells (Taniue et al. 2016). The fusion protein TCF3-PBX1 is an oncogenic transcription factor, occuring in a subset of acute lymphoblastic leukemias (Eldfors et al. 2017). In addition, as a chimeric transcription factors, TCF3-HLF defines an incurable subtype of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Huang et al. 2019).
