| Rabbit anti syntaxin-1A antibody recognizes syntaxin-1A, also known as neuron-specific antigen HPC-1 and STX1A. Syntaxin-1a is a SNARE protein, one of the central components of membrane fusion machinery (Liang et al. 2017). Membrane fusion is crucial for processes including intracellular transport, neurotransmitter release, and cell fertilization (Han et al. 2017). To mediate membrane fusion, the membrane SNARES syntaxin-1A and SNAP-25 form a heterodimer which can then offer a target site for the vesicle SNARE VAMP-2 (Fan et al. 2006). The two isoforms of syntaxin-1, A and B, have high homology. Overexpression of syntaxin-1A has been observed in primary brain tumors and colorectal, lung, and breast cancers (Raja et al. 2019). Syntaxin-1 has been suggested as a marker of neuroendocrine tumors (Kővári et al. 2020). |
