Mouse anti PDIA6 antibody recognizes protein disulfide-isomerase A6, also known as ER protein 5, TXNDC7. PDIA6 belongs to the protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) family. It functions as an oxidoreductase to catalyze the formation of disulfide bonds, and as a chaperone to assist with protein folding (Bai et al. 2019). PDIA6 is able to promote the proliferation and growth of many types of human cancer cell and plays important roles in tumor immunoevasion and proliferation (Gao et al. 2016). Overexpression of PDIA6 has been identified in patients with lung adenocarcinoma and correlates with clinical status (Tufo et al. 2014). PDIA6 also appears to have metabolic roles, having found to be essential for glucose-stimulated insulin secretion. When PDIA6 is ablated, insulin release is substantially inhibited (Eletto et al. 2016).
