| Mouse anti HAX1 antibody recognizes HCLS1-associated protein X-1, also known as HSP1BP-1. The ubiquitously-expressed protein HAX1 has functions in control of cell viability, migration, and cancer progression, and has been reported in the mitochondria and cytoplasm (Li et al. 2016). Mutations in HAX1 cause severe congenital neutropenia (SCN), a condition characterised by life-threatening bacterial infections and a dramatic decrease in peripheral neutrophil granulocytes (Klein 2017). Transcription of the gene encoding HAX1 is activated by the histone demethylase KDM4B, which show correlated overexpression in colorectal cancer cells and play a role in mitochondrial apoptosis (Li et al. 2016). HAX1 may play an important role in the invasion and metastasis of breast cancer, has been suggested as a potential therapeutic target (Sheng and Ni 2015). |
