DDX48 antibody | AB02/3F4
DDX48 is a core component of exon junction complexes (EJCs) which act as molecular markers for post-transcriptional gene regulation (Ryu et al. 2019). Specifically, DDX48 regulates the exon junction complex and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay during processing of mRNA transcripts. DDX48 mutations have been identified in Richieri-Costa-Pereira syndrome, characterized by craniofacial anomalies and severe limb defects (Mazloomian et al. 2019). Accordingly, the 5' untranslated region of DDX48 has been identified as an essential factor for craniofacial and neural development (Hsia et al. 2018). DDX48 dysfunction has been identified in cancer, overexpressed at the transcriptional level in several human malignancies. This result is consistent with the known regulation of apoptosis and the cell cycle by DDX48 via several cancer-related pathways (Lin et al. 2018).
