| Rabbit anti Human CD274 antibody recognizes programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PD-L1), also known as B7-H1. CD274 is a cell-surface glycoprotein induced by cytokines, importantly interferon gamma from T helper cells under inflammatory conditions (Inaguma et al. 2017). CD274 is expressed in a range of tissues, but mostly in activated T and B lymphocyte cells, dendritic cells, and monocytes (Fabrizio et al. 2018). CD274 is an inhibitory immune checkpoint inhibitor which plays a role in maintaining peripheral T-lymphocyte tolerance and regulating inflammation (Schutz et al. 2017). Constitutive upregulation of CD274 has been identified in solid tumors (Franzen et al. 2017), and expression of CD274 in the tumor microenvironment appears to be one of the main mechanisms in which cancer can evade the immune system via inhibiting anti-tumor T-cell immunity (Zou et al. 2016). |
