Rabbit anti acetyl CoA carboxylase antibody
recognizes acetyl CoA carboxylase, also known as ACC1 and ACACA.
Acetyl CoA carboxylase 1 is a lipogenic enzyme which catalyzes the carboxylation of acetyl CoA to malonyl CoA within fatty acid synthesis (Rios Garcia et al. 2017
). This carboxylase activity is controlled by glucagon, epinephrine, and insulin, corresponding to the energy state of the organism. Acetyl CoA carboxylase is activated by phosphorylation and deactivated by dephosphorylation, allowing it to respond to energy status (Mabrouk et al. 1990
). Acetyl CoA carboxylase appears to regulate the differentiation of CD4+ T cells, and has been suggested as a therapeutic target for a range of metabolic syndromes and cancers (Wang et al. 2019
