| Rabbit anti CD278 antibody recognizes inducible T-cell costimulator, also known as ICOS and AILIM. CD278 is a member of the immunoglobulin family of co-receptor molecules mainly expressed on activated cytotoxic T cells, memory T cells, and regulatory T cells (Xiao et al. 2020). Its main role appears to be supporting differentiation and function of CD4+ follicular helper (Tfh) cells during germinal centre reactions (Panneton et al. 2018). The protein has significant homology to CD28 and CTLA-4. CD278 expression is induced on T cells following T cell receptor (TCR) cross-linking and/or CD28 co-stimulation (Wikenheiser and Stumhofer 2016). Because of its expression pattern, CD278 provides an early and sensitive method for detecting T-cell immune responses to cancer therapy (Xiao et al. 2020). |
