Galectin-1

Recombinant Human Galectin-1
- Product Type
- Recombinant Protein
- Specificity
- Galectin-1
Recombinant Human galectin-1 (Gal-1) is a member of the galectin family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins, which exhibits both intracellular and extracellular functions, and is differentially expressed by a wide range of normal and neoplastic tissues. Galectin-1 has been implicated in several major cellular functions including proliferation, motility, haematopoietic cell differentiation, apoptosis promotion and immunoregulatory effects. The expression of Gal-1 by neuronal and glial cells correlates with neuroregeneration following injury, Gal-1 is important to primary sensory neurons and synaptic connections in the spinal cord, during embryonic development. |
- Target Species
- Human
- Product Form
- Purified recombinant protein - lyophilized
- Reconstitution
- Reconstitute with 0.5 ml distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For extended storage, the additiona of 0.1% bovine serum albumin (BSA) is recommended.

- Guarantee
- Guaranteed for 3 months from the date of reconstitution or until the date of expiry, whichever comes first. Please see label for expiry date.
After reconstitution store at -20oC.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
