|Serum Amyloid A (apo-SAA) is an acute phase response protein and injury specific apolipoprotein, synthesized primarily in the liver, which is found in trace amounts in association with high density lipoproteins (HDL) in human serum, but increases dramatically during an acute response to inflammation, infection, trauma, and malignant neoplasia, to become the most abundant HDL apolipoprotein. The acute phase isoforms of apo-SAA are encoded by the genes SAA1 (Apo-SAA1) and SAA2 (Apo-SAA2), and both include allelic variants.|

- Reconstitute with 0.5 ml distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For extended storage, the addition of 0.1% BSA is recommended.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
