Recombinant chicken inerleukin-6 is a histidine tagged molecule produced in E. coli. Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a multifunctional pro-inflammatory cytokine, produced by a wide variety of cells including B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, monocytes/macrophages, fibroblasts and endothelial cells. It plays a major role in the regulation of immune responses, haematopoiesis and the induction of acute phase responses. Recombinant chicken inerleukin-6 induces corticosterone secretion in vivo and induces proliferation of the IL-6 dependant murine hybridoma cell line 7TD1 in vitro (Marais et al. 2011). Recombinant chicken inerleukin-6 (PAP003) is the immunogen used to produce Bio-Rad chicken IL-6 antibody (AHP942Z). |
