Human anti Chicken CD25 antibody, clone AbD13504ka, recognizes the chicken IL-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα).

Chicken IL-2R&alpha, cited as ChCD25 in published literature, is a cell surface antigen expressed by activated T-lymphocytes, as well as monocytes/macrophages and thrombocytes.

Chicken IL-2Rα forms part of the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex when associated with IL-2Rβ and γc, but alone it represents the low-affinity binding component for IL-2. This receptor plays a central role in T cell activation, proliferation, and immune regulation, including the maintenance of peripheral tolerance through regulatory T cells. Recent studies highlight that CD4+ve/CD25+ve and CD8+ve/CD25+ve cells are up-regulated following infection with avian influenza virus (H9N2) suggesting an important role in the immune response to avian influenza virus infection (Huang et al. 2012).

Human anti Chicken CD25, clone AbD13504ka, is derived from clone AbD13504 (HCA173), and is a full length chimeric human/mouse antibody.
