Rabbit anti Human STAT3 (pTyr705) antibody recognizes signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), also known as acute-phase response factor (APRF), when phosphorylated at tyrosine 705. STAT3 is a transcription factor, affecting the expression of over a thousand gene products, is an important regulator of cell proliferation and survival, and plays a role in autophagy (You et al. 2015). Activation of STAT3 mostly occurs through phosphorylation of Tyr705, leading to translocation of STAT3 dimers to the nucleus. STAT3 can regulate both tumor suppressor genes and oncogenes, and is able to regulate tumor microenvironments (Galoczova et al. 2018). Constitutive activation of STAT3 has been identified in tumor cells and tumor-infiltrated immune cells, and activated STAT3 triggers tumor progression by directly regulating expression of oncogenic genes (Wang et al. 2018).
