Mouse anti Human DUSP3 antibody recognizes dual-specificity phosphatase 3, also known as dual specificity protein phosphatase VHR or vaccinia H1-related phosphatase.

DUSP3 is a member of the DUSP family of proteins. Members of this family dephosphorylate the threonine/serine and tyrosine residues of their substrates, such as MAPKs ERK and JNK, STAT5 and ErbB2 (Cerignoli et al. 2006, Monteiro et al. 2019). DUSP3 expression has a role in the development of a number of different cancer types, including cancer of the cervix (Henkens et al. 2008) and prostate (Arnoldussen et al. 2008). Decreased levels of DUSP3 lead to increased phosphorylation of the insulin receptor (IR) and higher activation of the downstream signaling pathway; suggesting DUSP3 plays a role in obesity, insulin resistance, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and liver damage (Jaques et al. 2021).
