Subsets of human B cells (CD45+CD19+) were sorted from BM and spleens of vaccinated HIS mice. The strategy 1 (upper part) was used on 3 responder HBsAg-vaccinated animals and gave rise to the following B cell subsets: (i) CD27hiCD38hi, (ii) CD27+CD38lo/intIgD+, and (iii) CD27+CD38lo/intIgD−. The strategy 2 (lower part) was used on 3 responder TT-vaccinated animals and gave rise to the following B cell subsets: (iv) CD27+IgM+IgG−, and (v) CD27+IgM−IgG+. Mouse anti human CD27, clone LT27, recognizes the human T-cell activation antigen, CD27. This antigen is expressed on activated T lymphocytes and belongs to a family of proteins associated with the nerve growth factor receptor. CD27 is expressed by thymocytes and peripheral T cells and also by EBV transformed B cell lines.

Mouse anti human CD27, clone LT27 precipitates a ~55 kDa protein under reducing conditions or a ~120 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions.
