Bio-Rad provides Material Safety Datasheets (MSDS) that comply with the latest regulations from the European Union*.
Material Safety Datasheets (MSDS) for Bio-Rad products can be found by refering to the Health and Safety Information section of the specific product-related datasheets found on our website.
Please contact antibody_tech_uk@bio-rad.com if you have difficulty finding the MSDS for a particular product. Technical support can also help if you would like a paper copy of an MSDS mailed to you or if you would like the MSDS supplied in French or German.
We aim to provide as much information as we have available regarding the hazards of our product to help our customers assess the probability of the safety issues arising in the workplace.
In general our products are classified as mixtures which are not hazardous in most cases. Products that are classified as hazardous, during normal handling, will be labeled as such and it will be noted on the MSDS for that product. Material Safety Datasheets are also available for products that are classified as non-hazardous.
*EU Regulations
EU regulation No 453/2010 of 20 May 2010, which amends regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
(EU) regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labeling and packaging of chemical substances and mixtures entered into force on the 20th of January 2009. Products that have been classified as Hazardous are labeled in accordance with EC No 1272/2008 (CLP). EU regulation 1272/2008 will gradually replace the Dangerous Substances Directive (DSD) (67/548/EEC) and the Dangerous Preparations Directive (DPD) (1999/45/EC). In accordance with EU regulations, Bio-Rad will display both CLP and DPD classification on the safety datasheet until the 1st of June 2015. Both DSD and DPD will be repealed on the 1st of June 2015.
