Mouse anti Human CD130, clone E03-3C2, recognizes CD130, also known as glycoprotein 130 (gp130) and STAT3. It is a ubiquitously expressed receptor subunit of the IL-6 family of cytokines and plays a role in many biological processes including hematopoiesis, immune response, inflammation, cardiovascular action, and neuronal survival. CD130 also plays a critical role during development with CD130 deficient mice being embryonically lethal as a result of myocardial hypoplasia and defects in hematopoiesis (White & Stephens 2011). CD130 is known to bind various cytokines in the IL-6 family, including IL-6, IL-11, IL-27, CT-1, oncostatin M and ciliary neurotrophic factor (White & Stephens 2011). Upon activation by these cytokines, various signaling pathways can be initiated including JAK/STAT, MAPK, mTOR, ERK and PI3K/Atk (Silver & Hunter 2010).

The biotinylated Mouse anti Human CD130 antibody, clone E03-3C2 (MCA6233B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human CD130 antibody, clone A14-5C5 (MCA6232GA) as the capture antibody.
