Marta has a PhD in Biomedical Research from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.

She investigated the neuroprotective effects of noradrenaline in Alzheimer's disease.

After being highly commended in the 2020 Bio-Rad Science Writing Competition, she decided to become a Science Communicator and she collaborates with the Dravet Syndrome Foundation to raise awareness of this disorder and encourage investment in research and development of better diagnostics and treatments.
