    • Rabbit anti phosphorylated GluR1 antibody recognizes rat glutamate receptor subunit 1 (GluR1) when phosphorylated at serine 845.

GluR1, widely expressed throughout the nervous system, is a component of AMPA receptors (alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxalone propionic acid receptors), which play a key role at excitatory synapses. Phosphorylation of Ser831 and Ser845 is reported to potentiate GluR1 function, suggesting a possible role in synaptic plasticity, learning and memory.
    • This product has been reported to work in the following applications. For the detection of phosphoproteins, serine phosphatase inhibitors such as 10mM Sodium Fluoride should be added to the sample buffer. Milk or other casein-based blocking solutions are not recommended as casein is a phosphoprotein and its use can result in high background.

    • Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
