Rabbit anti Rat GluR1 (pSer831) antibody recognizes glutamate receptor 1 (GluR1), also known as AMPA-selective glutamate receptor 1, GluR-A, GluR-K1 and glutamate receptor ionotropic , AMPA 1 (GluA1), when phosphorylated at serine 831.

GluR1, widely expressed throughout the nervous system is a component of AMPA receptors (alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxalone propionic acid receptors), which play a key role at excitatory synapses.

Phosphorylation of Ser831 and Ser845 is reported to potentiate GluR1 function, suggesting a possible role in synaptic plasticity, learning and memory.

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.

This product has been reported to work in the following applications. This information is derived from testing within our laboratories, peer-reviewed publications or personal communications from the originators.
