Native Human Myoglobin is a heme containing oxygen carrier that stores oxygen in muscles. It consists of a single polypeptide chain with a molecular weight of ~16 kDa. Sequence analysis shows that it is structurally related to haemoglobin. Following myocardial infraction myoglobin is lost from cardiac muscle cells and its presence in serum may be used as a diagnostic indicator.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
