Rabbit ati Rat prostatein antibody recognizes the C3 subunit of rat prostatein, also known as Secretoglobin family 2A member 2, C3.1, Prostatein peptide C3 or Prostatic steroid-binding protein C3. Prostatein peptide C3 is a 77 amino acid peptide with an additional 18 amino acid N-terminal signal peptide having a predicted molecular mass of ~10.7 kDa. Prostatein is a tetrameric protein comprised of two heterodimeric components made up of C1, C2 and C3 components. Prostatein is highly expressed in the ventral prostate as an androgen dependent secreted protein and member of the lipophilin subfamily of proteins.
