Rabbit anti Human PPAR gamma antibody recognises human Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) a 57.6 kDa transcription factor belonging to the nuclear hormone receptor (NR1) family.

PPARγ is vital in the regulation of cellular differentiation, development and metabolism. PPARγ is a key regulator of adipocyte differentiation and glucose homeostasis. In addition, PPARγ is the main target of thiazolidinediones (TZDs), a class of drug used in diabetes mellitus and other diseases that feature insulin resistance.

PPARγ is widely expressed with high concentrations being found in adipose tissue.
