| Rabbit anti Human p43 antibody recognizes the elongation factor Tu, mitochondrial, also known as EF-Tu or TUFM. The TUFM gene encodes a protein which participates in protein translation in mitochondria. Mutations in TUFM have been associated with combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency resulting in lactic acidosis and fatal encephalopathy. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 17 (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008). Rabbit anti Human p43 antibody detects a band of 46 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates. |
